About the Board:
The Bemidji Pride Board of Directors (BOD) is the decision-making body of the organization, providing financial management and oversight. Board of Director meetings are held every 3rd Sunday in-person, with virtual options available. Board members will be nominated and elected by existing members, serving a standard two-year term that runs September through August. Each member is eligible for a maximum of four consecutive two-year terms.

Current Openings: Board of Directors
Co-Chair
Collaborating closely with the Chair, the Co-Chair:

Co-creates agendas.
-
Fills in for chair in leading meetings when needed.
-
Performs other chair responsibilities to fill in as needed.

Recommends who serves on committees.
-
Follow up on action items to ensure they are completed.
-
Performs other duties assigned by Chair.

Secretary
In support of the Chair and Steering Committee, the Secretary:
-
Assists in creating meeting agendas
-
Takes and circulates meeting minutes.
-
Ensures information is distributed to Steering Committee members as needed.
-
Acts as custodian of records
-
Performs other duties assigned by Chair.

Keeps a working memory of the Pride committee for future improvement of the org.

Fundraising Director
Collaborating closely with the Chair, the Fundraising Director:
-
Leads fundraising strategies and activities.
-
Seeks and applies for grants.
-
Organizes sponsorship, donations, and other fundraising activities related to the annual Bemidji Pride event, may assist with other event fundraising.
-
Collaborates with Silent Auction Coordinator and other committee leads who are involved with fundraising.
-
Performs other duties as assigned by Chair.

At-Large Director
Collaborating closely with the Chair, the At-Large Director:
-
Collaborates with the rest of the Directors, committee leads, and volunteers to ensure success in reaching Bemidji Pride's goals.

Performs other duties as assigned by Chair.
(The Bemidji Pride At-Large Director is a voting member of the Board of Directors and will provide general support to the activities of Bemidji Pride.)

Marketing Director
Collaborating closely with the Chair, the Fundraising Director:

Manages Bemidji Pride’s communications, branding, and community outreach efforts.

Creates and schedules promotional content across social media platforms, website, and newsletters.

Designs or oversees creation of graphics, event materials, and marketing assets.

Ensures consistent messaging and visibility for Pride events, programs, and initiatives.

Coordinates with committee leads and volunteers to support needs for events and outreach.
-
Performs other duties as assigned by Chair.

Silent Auction Coordinator
The Silent Auction Coordinator is a volunteer position and is responsible for the solicitation of donations before the event, organization and all aspects of the auction during the event with a team of volunteers, contacting auction winners after the event, distributing the auction items to the winners, collecting payment, and keeping accurate records.
